I Have a Secret to Share

Incomprehensible...Unfathomable...Omnipotent and Omniscient, but not a secret. God has not hidden Himself. Look at these passages:

"...the LORD is with you when you are with Him. And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you." (2 Chronicles 15:2, emphasis mine)

"But in their distress they turned to the LORD God of Israel, and they sought Him, and He let them find Him." (2 Chronicles 15:4, emphasis mine)

"All Judah rejoiced concerning the oath, for they had sworn with their whole heart and had sought Him earnestly, and He let them find Him. So the LORD gave them rest on every side." (2 Chronicles 15:15, emphasis mine)

These verses all refer to the tribes of Judah and part of the ten tribes of Israel during the reign of King Asa. You can see clearly in these passages that God has not hidden himself from mankind, but is simply waiting for genuine seeking hearts. Repeatedly throughout scripture God demonstrates that He is doing all He can to make Himself known and evident to all people so they will come to Him for salvation (Romans 1:18-32, Luke 8:16-18, Isaiah 65:1, Deuteronomy 4:29, Jeremiah 29:13-14, 2 Peter 3:3-9)

We must make seeking God our first priority (Matthew 6:33). God will fight for us, provide for us, give us wisdom and everything for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:2-3) if we will continuously and faithfully pursue His desires as revealed in the Bible. God is not a God of secrets to be kept, He is a God of mysteries to be revealed.

If you doubt: seek. If you're confused: seek. If you don't know what the truth is: seek. If you are lonely: seek. If you are angry: seek. If you are depressed: seek. If you are hungry: seek. If you are unfulfilled: seek. If you are joyful: seek. If you are hopeful: seek. If you are fulfilled: seek. God wants you to seek Him if every circumstance of life. He is sufficient to meet every need. He is the answer for every joy and every sorrow.

Come to Him and ask and seek. Read His Word, the Bible, and meditate on it and ask for wisdom until you understand what God is trying to tell you or show you. God is faithful and He loves you and He wants you to know Him, but He wants you to want to know Him before He'll show you. He will never force His way into your life.

Come...Seek...

For God's Glory,

Chris S. Sweet
